Aluminium Tent Pegs

Haringboer® ❤️ Lightweight & Quality!

Haringboer® focuses on two things in the development of tent pegs: quality and quality. Oh, and lightweight. This is why I only have aluminum and titanium tent pegs in my assortment.

And do you know what makes me really proud (I am and will always be an engineer): I use 7000-series aluminum, which is used in the aerospace industry!

A bit strange to use in tent pegs, you might say? Exactly! That’s why I’m almost the only one. Additionally, sustainability and taking good care of the world are topics that concern me greatly. Therefore, I focus on high-quality products: they simply last longer.

Cheap is expensive, and at Haringboer® we don’t like that!

The Advantages of 7000-Series Aluminum Tent Pegs

Not all types of aluminum are the same. Each type is suitable for different applications. I have concluded that 7000-series aluminum has the optimal combination of stiffness and light weight. This type of aluminum has even more advantages.

7000-Series Aluminum = Light

The great advantage of this type of aluminum is that it is incredibly light. And many campers just love lightweight tent pegs. 7000-series aluminum is three times as light as the same peg in steel. But does that affect the stiffness?

7000-Series Aluminum = Stiff

That’s the beauty of this type of aluminum: it is just as stiff as many regular steel types. The stiffness of Haringboer® tent pegs does not fall short compared to the steel tent pegs on the market.

7000-Series Aluminum = Corrosion-Resistant

This is an advantage of aluminum: it does not rust. So, it does not weaken over the years you use the tent pegs!

7000-Series Aluminum = Beautiful

7000-series aluminum is easy to anodize: this is the outer layer applied to the tent peg and determines the color. This looks nice but also serves as a good protective layer. I apply an extra thick layer on my aluminum pegs.

Do 7000-Series Aluminum Tent Pegs Have Any Disadvantages?

And you might wonder if this type of aluminum has any disadvantages? Yes! This type of aluminum is difficult to process during production (but that’s my problem).
